　　1. The Aswan Dam, for example, stopped the Nile flooding but deprived Egypt of the fertile silt that floods left -- all in return for a giant reservoir of disease which is now so full of silt that it barely generates electricity.

　　3. Meanwhile, in India, the World Bank has given the go-ahead to the even more wrong-headed Narmada Dam.

　　【譯文】同時，世界銀行已經(jīng)貸款給印度建造納爾達(dá)瑪大壩，簡直是錯上加錯。

　　【析句】這句話中兩個單詞用的很好，一個是go-ahead。give go-ahead to do sth意為“允許、批準(zhǔn)做某事”，比起allow sb to do sth更加形象生動。另一個是wrong-headed，意為“固執(zhí)己見的，堅持錯誤的”，與go-ahead形似，前后呼應(yīng)。
