一、小學(xué)部引入社交情感學(xué)習(xí)(Second Step)課程
在小學(xué)階段,除了學(xué)術(shù)成績(jī),建立自我調(diào)節(jié)和社交情感技能對(duì)孩子們來(lái)說(shuō)同樣重要。為此,君誠(chéng)小學(xué)部引入了社交情感學(xué)習(xí)(Second Step)課程。該課程是由美國(guó)兒童委員會(huì)(the Committee for Children)制定,廣泛適用于課堂實(shí)踐,旨在通過(guò)促進(jìn)學(xué)生的社會(huì)情感能力和自我調(diào)節(jié)能力來(lái)提高他們的學(xué)業(yè)成功率并減少問(wèn)題行為,更好地控制自我、增進(jìn)友誼、減少欺凌。未來(lái),學(xué)校也將對(duì)于安全及自我保護(hù),開(kāi)展更多的教育及主題活動(dòng),讓孩子們?cè)趯W(xué)習(xí)和活動(dòng)中,提高安全意識(shí)并掌握自我保護(hù)的方法和途徑。
In elementary school, in addition to academic achievement, it is also important for children to build self-regulation and social and emotional skills. To this end, SIBS elementary school introduced the Second Step course. The curriculum, developed by the Committee for Children, is widely applicable to classroom practice and aims to improve students' academic success rate and reduce problem behaviors by promoting their social emotional ability and self-regulation ability, so as to better control themselves, enhance friendship and reduce bullying. In the future, schools will also carry out more education and themed activities on safety and self-protection, so that children can improve their safety awareness and master the methods and approaches of self-protection in learning and activities.
二、陳曉民總校長(zhǎng)榮獲新浪教育2019年度十大國(guó)際影響力校長(zhǎng)
在剛剛結(jié)束的新浪教育2019年度十大國(guó)際影響力校長(zhǎng)評(píng)選中,我校陳曉民總校長(zhǎng)斬獲殊榮,再一次被主流媒體和學(xué)生家長(zhǎng)們認(rèn)可。陳校長(zhǎng)在個(gè)人陳述中談到:
“教育尚不是一門(mén)優(yōu)雅嚴(yán)謹(jǐn)?shù)目茖W(xué),但其中的技術(shù)細(xì)節(jié)和千百年來(lái)的實(shí)踐積累完全不亞于最高深的火箭科學(xué)。教育是一門(mén)靈魂的架構(gòu)藝術(shù),她的成效變化差異在今天已經(jīng)不是簡(jiǎn)單應(yīng)試的幾分差距或者“211”和“二本“院校之間差距,而是在”黑天鵝“勢(shì)力主宰下的知識(shí)型經(jīng)濟(jì)中,幾何級(jí)數(shù)的創(chuàng)造力天壤之別。
從一開(kāi)始,我的理性分析就斷定:每一位中國(guó)孩子都具備進(jìn)入世界一流大學(xué)的潛質(zhì)。每位中國(guó)孩子所缺的只是在合適的時(shí)候碰到一位明師,得到合理的指導(dǎo),找到一所適合自己的國(guó)際化學(xué)校,通過(guò)課程而不是捷徑通往入口本來(lái)就寬泛的世界一流大學(xué)。在我的國(guó)際教育實(shí)踐中,我正是秉承這樣的理念幫助一批批又一批看似平凡的中國(guó)學(xué)子實(shí)現(xiàn)了自己的世界一流大學(xué)夢(mèng)。“
In the selection of Sina education's top ten international influential principals in 2019, Principal Chen Xiaomin from our school won the award, which was once again recognized by the main stream media and parents of students. In his personal statement, Principal Chen said:
"Education is not yet an elegant and rigorous science, but the technical details and thousands of years of practices which are nothing less than rocket science at its highest. Education is an architectural art of the soul, and the difference in its effectiveness today is not simply a matter of a few points to the test, or a difference between "211" and "Tier 2" schools, but a geometric difference in creativity in the "black swan" dominated knowledge economy.
From the beginning, my rational analysis concluded that every Chinese child has the potential to enter a world-class university. What every Chinese child needs is a mentor at the right time, proper guidance, an international school that suits them, and access to the world's best universities by curriculum rather than shortcuts. In my international education practice, I am adhering to such a concept to help groups of seemingly ordinary Chinese students realize their dream of a world-class university. "
三、中學(xué)部9年級(jí)學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)薩爾薩舞蹈!
作為9年級(jí)拉丁美洲人文地理課程的一部分,我們了解了整個(gè)拉丁美洲的文化,我們積極討論了音樂(lè)、藝術(shù)和舞蹈對(duì)拉丁文化的重要性——實(shí)踐也非常重要!所以我們?cè)谡n堂上開(kāi)始學(xué)習(xí)怎么跳薩爾薩舞蹈。首先我們學(xué)了8拍的基本舞步,練習(xí)了20分鐘(盡管有些害羞、有些跟不上節(jié)拍,但我們堅(jiān)持了下來(lái)),然后是小組討論和學(xué)生自己制作PPT,討論關(guān)于加勒比,中美洲和南美洲之間的重要文化相似性和差異,我們甚至開(kāi)始談?wù)搶?dǎo)致人口遷移、移民融入新社會(huì)、他們的地理位置以及可能面臨的困難因素。在課后,學(xué)生需要思考的問(wèn)題是:拉丁美洲和中國(guó)之間會(huì)有哪些文化差異?
We are currently learning about Latin America in Human Geography class... As a introduction into Latin American Culture we actively discussed how music, arts, and dance are very important to Latin culture. We learned a basic 8-count step that we practiced for the first 20 minutes of class, followed by a group discussion and PowerPoint on important culture similarities and differences between the Caribbean, Central America, and South America. During class we had already discussed many factors leading to the migration of people, integration of those people, and their geographical location in relation to the difficulties they might have faced on arrival. At the end of class we wrapped of our discussion with our Exit Question: What are some cultural difference between Latin America and China?
The goal of the class is to learn more about Latin American culture and compare/contrast the similarities and differences in relation to the other countries around the world.
四、小學(xué)部藝術(shù)課環(huán)保主題作品展示
環(huán)保主題不在說(shuō)教,注重實(shí)踐效果更佳。在君誠(chéng)小學(xué)部藝術(shù)課上,同學(xué)們正在用彩色細(xì)繩、膠帶、各類(lèi)貼紙等材料給已經(jīng)喝完的果汁玻璃瓶瓶身上面添加裝飾。在Angel老師的指導(dǎo)下,同學(xué)們盡情發(fā)揮想象,自己設(shè)計(jì)并動(dòng)手制作藝術(shù)作品。經(jīng)過(guò)同學(xué)們的巧手,原本平淡無(wú)奇的空瓶搖身一變成為了“Kitty貓”、“小黃人”、“憤怒的小鳥(niǎo)”等多種可愛(ài)有趣的卡通形象。不僅如此,大家還把瓶蓋也利用上了,同學(xué)們?cè)谄可w的內(nèi)部用不同顏色的畫(huà)筆畫(huà)上了各種漂亮的圖案,仿佛給瓶蓋施了魔法一般,變得精致、小巧又可愛(ài)。
Environmental protection theme does not relyon preaching, but focus on practical results. In the art class of SIBS elementary school, students are using colorful strings, tapes, stickers and other materials to decorate the glass bottles of juice that have been drunk. Under the guidance of teacher Angel, students let their imagination run wild, designed and made artistic works by themselves. Through the hands of the students, the original plain empty bottle suddenly became "Kitty", "minions", "angry birds" and other cute and interesting cartoon characters. Despite that, we also made use of the bottle cap, the students drew in the bottle cap with different beautiful pictures and painted with a various colors, as if attached to the bottle cap with magic, become delicate, compact and lovely.
五、K3活動(dòng)課剪影
活動(dòng)課是兒童低齡階段的實(shí)踐課程,也是孩子們最喜歡上的課。本周的活動(dòng)課主題是制作“模擬溫度計(jì)“。Steven老師首先告訴孩子們什么是溫度計(jì)?溫度計(jì)的作用是什么?然后講解了制作”模擬溫度計(jì)“的4個(gè)步驟。看!孩子們拿著自己的作品多開(kāi)心!
Activity class is a practical course for children at a young age, it is also children’s favorite class. The theme of this week's activity class is making "analog thermometers". First of all, teacher Steven told students what is a thermometer? What does a thermometer do? Then explained the four steps to make an analog thermometer.Look! How happy the children are with their creations!
六、小學(xué)部示范課教研活動(dòng)第二周
本周是小學(xué)部中國(guó)教師示范課教研活動(dòng)開(kāi)展的第二周,主要是小學(xué)三、四、五年級(jí)的中教老師互相觀摩學(xué)習(xí)。楊銳老師、黃春艷老師、夏科老師、張昕暉老師、王靜老師輪番上陣,各顯神通,給老師們和同學(xué)們帶來(lái)了一場(chǎng)場(chǎng)精彩紛呈的示范課。
This week is the second week of the teaching and research activities of the Chinese teacher demonstration class in the elementary school. Teacher Yang Rui, Huang Chunyan, Xia Ke, Zhang Xinhui, Wang Jing took turns to battle and showed their magic sides, brought teachers and students a wonderful demonstration class.
七、寒冷的冬日,也不能阻擋青春的熱情
君誠(chéng)學(xué)校針對(duì)全年齡段的學(xué)生開(kāi)設(shè)118種課外興趣課,包含體育類(lèi),藝術(shù)類(lèi),科技類(lèi),人文類(lèi)等,并提供中英文作業(yè)課后班等額外教學(xué)支持。在寒冷的冬日,小編特地去探訪(fǎng)了那些戶(hù)外的運(yùn)動(dòng)健將,那些獨(dú)自練習(xí)的身影,那些歡聲笑語(yǔ),那些熱血青春!
SIBS offers 118 kinds of extra-curricular interest classes for students of all ages, including physical education, art, science and technology, humanities, etc., and provides extra teaching support such as English and Chinese homework classes.
