| suggest 是個及物動詞，后面可以跟名詞、代詞、動名詞或從句作它的賓語。各種試題對 suggest 的考查通常涉及到它的非謂語動詞形式、賓語從句及賓語從句的虛擬語氣等方面。 考點一、 suggest 作“間接表明；建議；使想起”解時，后面可以跟名詞、代詞或動名詞做賓語 �、� suggest sth.表明，建議 That girl's sun-tanned face suggests excellent health. 那個姑娘被太陽曬黑了的臉表明她身體非常健康。 Mr. Smith suggested a way out of the difficulty to her. 史密斯先生向她提出了一個克服困難的辦法。 �、� suggest doing sth Tom suggested selling the house but Ann was against it.湯姆建議把房子賣了，但安不同意。 錯點一 誤用不定式作賓語 要表示漢語的“建議做某事”，英語通常用 suggest doing sth，而不能用 suggest to do sth.如： 他建議坐飛機去，可我認為這樣花費太大。 正：He suggested going by plane, but I thought it would cost too much. 誤：He suggested to go by plane, but I thought it would cost too much. �、� suggest sb’s doing sth I have written him a letter and suggested his sending it to the Ministry of Culture. 我給他寫了一封信，并建議他把它寄給文化部。 ④ suggest sth to sb（錯誤：suggest sb to do或suggest sb sth） 考點二、 suggest后面的賓語從句要不要用虛擬語氣，由它的意思決定： 作“建議”解，賓語從句中的謂語動詞用虛擬語氣，即謂語動詞用“（ should ）動詞原形”。 �、� Almost all his friends suggested that he visit Mr. Johnson at once. �、� ----The experiment has failed！ ----I suggest you try again. 句式一、 It's suggested that…… （有人建議……）例如： ① It's suggested that we （ should ） put on a short play at the party. 有人建議我們在晚會上演一個短劇。 ② It has been suggested that Robert should go to Chicago and try to find a job there. 有人建議羅伯特到芝加哥去，設法在那里找個工作。 句式二、 What （ All that ） sb. suggests is that…… （某人建議的是……） ① What I suggest is that we visit a class right away. 我的建議是我們馬上去聽課。 �、� What she suggested was that the clinic should make better use of those herbs. 她建議醫(yī)療站更好地利用那些草藥。 suggest 作“表明、說明、暗示、指出”解，后面的that 賓語從句的謂語動詞用陳述語氣。 �、� He often came to the theater， but his attitude suggested he was not really interested in the play. ② Jane's pale face suggested that she was ill， and her parents suggested that she have a medical examination. 第一個 suggested 作“表明、說明”解，所以其后的賓語從句的謂語動詞用陳述語氣；第二個 suggested 的意思是“建議”，所以其后的賓語從句的謂語動詞用虛擬語氣，其中的 should 被省略了。 考點三、名詞 suggestion 的用法與其詞根動詞用法相似。 按英語習慣，suggest的派生名詞suggestion也具有與其詞根動詞相似的用法，suggestion 作“建議”解，后面跟同位語從句時，以及 suggestion 用作主語，后面跟表語從句時，從句中的謂語動詞均用虛擬語氣。 �、� My suggestion is that the work should be started at once.我的建議是立即動工。 �、� The monitor's suggestion that she should come another day has not been accepted. 班長提出的她改天來的建議還是沒有被接受。 |
