    （in Tomorrowland ）

    Mom ： What rides do you want to try here ？

    Tony： I want to go on Space Mountain ！

    Mom ： Sorry， sweetie. I think you're too small for that ride.

    Tony： No way ！ I'm already ten！

    Mom ： See. You have to be at least three-foot-four. You're two-foot-eight.

    Tony： I hate being short for my age！

    Mom ： Don't worry. You'll grow to three feet by the end of the year.
Let's go on the Astro Orbitor ride！

    （After the ride）

    Tony： I wanna go again ， Mom！

    Mom ： Why don't we make rounds to the other areas and come back？

    Tony： Oh ， look ！ Space Ice！ It's red and blue！ I want some！

    Mom ： That might ruin your appetite. How about after lunch ？

    Tony： But I'm hungry now ！ Oh ！ There's a hot dog stand！

    Mom ： Sure ， why not？ I guess that can count as lunch.

    Tony： I want two ！

    Mom ： OK ， but I bet your eyes are bigger than your stomach.

    講解：

    1.對(duì)話中，他們來(lái)到了Tomorrowland，明日樂園，是迪斯尼樂園中的一個(gè)主
題公園。Tony想玩“太空山”，就是Space Mountain. 但是媽媽說(shuō)，Tony太小了，
還不能玩。Tony不信，說(shuō)No way！ I'm already ten！不可能！我都10歲了。No
way ！在這里表示“不可能！”。

    2.媽媽指給Tony看告示牌，上面說(shuō)身高至少要達(dá)到三英尺四英寸才能上去玩，
而Tony只有2 英尺8 英寸高。Tony很生氣，說(shuō)I hate being short for my age ！
我長(zhǎng)的比同齡人矮，真討厭！for one's age ，表示“以某人的年齡來(lái)說(shuō)，顯得
相當(dāng)……”，這個(gè)句型常用來(lái)形容“行為舉止”與同齡的人有差異。比如說(shuō)，要
表達(dá)“你比同齡人成熟/ 聰明”，我們就可以說(shuō)，You're so mature /smart for
your age. 但是一般來(lái)說(shuō)呢，for one's age 常用在表示比同齡者表現(xiàn)差的情形，
比如說(shuō)，——Haha！ That's so funny！——That's mean. Aren't you acting
a little immature for your age？——哈哈！真是太好玩了！——那很不好。
都這把年紀(jì)了，你不覺得自己太不成熟了嗎？

    3.媽媽安慰Tony說(shuō)，不用擔(dān)心，到年底他就會(huì)有3 英尺高了，現(xiàn)在他們要去
玩Astro Orbitor ，就是“太空軌道車”，跟前面的Space Mountain一樣，都是
明日樂園里面的游樂設(shè)施。Tony覺得還沒有過(guò)癮，還想再玩一遍，這時(shí)媽媽說(shuō)，
他們可以到其他游樂區(qū)兜一圈再回來(lái)。make rounds 的意思是“照著順序走完一
遍”，也可以說(shuō)do the rounds 或者go on the rounds.

    4.這時(shí)Tony突然看見了有賣“太空冰”的，Space Ice ，是一種在明日樂園
里賣的冷飲。I want some ！就表示“我想要一點(diǎn)”。但是媽媽不同意說(shuō)，現(xiàn)在
吃冰會(huì)害Tony沒有胃口吃午飯的，不過(guò)可以午飯過(guò)后再吃。Tony又看見了賣熱狗
的攤子，就想吃一個(gè)熱狗，媽媽說(shuō)沒問(wèn)題，因?yàn)闊峁房梢援?dāng)作午飯了，count as
表示“算得上是，可以稱作是”。

    5. Tony 真是非常餓了，說(shuō)想吃兩個(gè)熱狗，媽媽笑他說(shuō)，OK， but I bet your
eyes are bigger than your stomach.我敢確定你是眼睛大，肚子小，一定吃不
了。這句話還是挺形象的。
