    Virginia： No. It has three bedrooms and three baths. I know the house.
It has a brand new kitchen. And a living room with a twelve-foot ceiling.
And there's a two-car garage. Richard ： Then why don't we go and look
at this house ， too？

    Virginia： It's a good investment. Richard： Thank you， Mrs. Martinelli.
Marilyn ： Thanks so much. Virginia ： My pleasure. Give my best to your
parents. Your father's a wonderful doctor ， Richard. He took care of
my daughter when she was a child. He's the best pediatrician in Westchester.
Richard ： Thanks ， Mrs. Martinelli. I'll give them your regards. Marilyn
： We really appreciate your advice Virginia： I do think you should go
and see the houses and talk to the bank. Here. Let me give you some information
sheets about the houses. They're both very good buys. Richard ： Well ，

    「語言點精講」

    1. Oh my！ Here's a real buy. It's a bargain. 噢，天��！這是真正價
廉物美的住宅，這房子買得過。

    Oh my �。罕硎倔@訝。相當于漢語中的“哎呀！天�。�”

    a real buy：真的很合算的買賣，確實是價錢很便宜。buy 在這里是名詞，
指“價錢便宜，買了上算的東西”，它可以有復數(shù)。例如下文Virginia女士講的
They‘re both very good buys. （這兩所房子都值得買。）

    a bargain ：與a real buy意義相同。

    2. This house just came on the market.它剛上市要賣。

    come on the market：上市，出售。

    3. It has a brand new kitchen. And a living room with a twelve-foot
ceiling. And there's a two-car garage.廚房是嶄新的裝修，起居室天花板離
地板12英尺高，有個能停兩輛車的車庫。

    brand new ：嶄新的，全新的。

    twelve-foot ceiling ：離地12英尺高的天花板。

    two-car garage：可停放兩輛車的車庫。

    4. Then why don't we go and look at this house， too？

    那么我們何不也看看這一所房子？

    Why don't we…？：為什么我們不…？相當于“Shall we…？”，是一種提
建議的講法。

    5. Give my best to your parents.替我向你父母問好。這里best后面省了
regards （問候，致敬意）。

    也可以說： Remember me to your parents.

    6. I'll give them your regards. 我會向他們轉(zhuǎn)達您的問候。這句話是對
5 的應(yīng)答。也可以只說：Yes ， I will.或者Sure， I will.

    7. I do think you should go and see the houses and talk to the bank.
這里的do表示強調(diào)，傳達出“我確實認為……”的語氣。這里的do需要重讀。
