persuade
persuade sb.to do sth.=persuade sb. into doing sth.說服某人做某事
persuade sb. not to do sth.=persuade sb. out of doing sth.說服某人不做某事
persuade sb. of sth.=persuade sb. that...使某人相信某事
try to persuade sb.to do sth.=advise sb.to do sth.盡力勸說某人做某事(但未勸服)
易混辨異
convince, persuade, advise
(1)convince是通過擺事實、講道理使人相信某個事實;persuade表示用勸說的方法，使人愿意采納某種意見或采取某一個行動。
What she said convinced me that I was mistaken.她的一番話使我認(rèn)識到自己錯了。
(2)convince可接含of短語或that從句的雙賓語，還可用在convince sb. to do或be convinced of結(jié)構(gòu)中;persuade后可接含不定式或that從句的復(fù)合賓語，也可用在persuade sb. of sth.結(jié)構(gòu)中。
How can I convince you of her honesty?我怎樣才能使你相信她很誠實呢?
(3)advise表示“勸告”的動作，不看結(jié)果，而persuade強調(diào)“已經(jīng)說服”;advise可接動詞的-ing 形式作賓語，也可接that引導(dǎo)的賓語從句(必須用虛擬語氣即should+動詞原形),而persuade不能。
My friends advised him to see a doctor, but he refused all of them. Who can persuade him?我的朋友們建議他去看醫(yī)生，但他拒絕了所有的人。誰能說服他?

(2)她勸我不要放棄工作，離開家人。
